WH Trading has an immediate opening for the position of Performance Engineer within our Software Engineering group. The software engineering group at WH Trading is responsible for designing and developing all of the interface systems that allow us to communicate with the electronic exchanges on which we trade.
Further, this group is tasked with writing the code that drives our trading algorithms and option pricing model and risk system.
The Performance Engineer will be responsible for continually improving the performance of our systems. This role will include but not be limited to identifying potential bottlenecks in our environment including our source code, the operating system, and our network. The engineer will, in a performance testing lab, test and provide recommendations on how to modify our environment (code, OS, messaging, servers and network equipment) in order to maximize the speed of our trading environment.
Additionally, the Performance Engineer will be responsible for benchmarking the performance of our software and hardware systems and researching new techniques and tools to help us build state of the art HPC systems. You will work closely with software developers and system engineers to maximize the performance of our systems and to achieve low latency solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates for the Performance Engineer position at WH Trading will be self-motivated and self disciplined individuals who are extremely detail oriented. Though this position will provide for much autonomy, the ability to work in a collaborative team environment remains critical.
The ideal candidate will be have a background in high and low level C++ programming, knowledge of multi-threaded applications, Linux internals, network programming, and network fundamentals. Additionally, the candidate will have knowledge of performance and load testing techniques in a distributed environment.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred. |
