Software Engineer is the programming position at WH Trading that is focused on developing software in a distributed, real-time environment. Software Engineers have the opportunity to write real-time applications that will be used by traders who run the proprietary algorithms and models that we deploy across a variety of asset classes.
Further, the engineer will develop libraries and frameworks that will be used by other developers. Sample projects include writing servers that communicate with the various securities exchanges and user interfaces that traders use to value options.
Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining real-time, scalable systems in a distributed environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates for the Software Engineer position at WH Trading will be self-motivated and self disciplined individuals that have strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as an attention to detail. Because our developers work closely with other engineers, quantitative analysts, systems engineers and traders, the ability to work in a collaborative team environment is critical.
The ideal candidate will have experience with object oriented design methodologies, C++ or Java, multi-threaded programming, data structures, Linux, and TCP/IP protocols.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required. 2+ years experience is preferred.
